HIGHWAYS ENGLAND – A417 MISSING LINK UPDATE

Highways England is drawing up plans to improve the A417 Missing Link between Brockworth bypass and Cowley roundabout, with the aim of creating a more reliable and safer road, reduce rat running and improve local air quality.

In autumn 2019, Highways England asked people what they thought of these plans and is now using the feedback to amend its plans. This includes responding to requests to improve local connectivity, accessibility and reduce the scheme’s impact on communities and the environment.

Highways England needs a bit more time to amend its plans and collect survey data. This extra work will however ensure it delivers the best practicable solution for all.

The Development Consent Order application will now be submitted in 2021, and Highways England will continue to provide further scheme updates in the coming months.
